Research Interests

The focus of my current research is on foundational aspects of quantum computation, and quantum computer architecture. This concerns three aspects in particular, namely
(i) the role of contextuality in quantum computation,
(ii) the connection between measurement-based quantum computation (MBQC) and symmetry-protected topological order, and
(iii) A distributed quantum computer architecture based on small ion traps and photonic links.
